How to Rent a Weekly Timeshare

37
    • 1). Find a resource that allows you to rent weekly timeshares. A few of the resources available are Home Away Red Week, Timeshare Rentals, Timeshares By Owner and Vacation Property Direct.

    • 2). Select the location that you will be vacationing to. The location can be within or outside of the United States. Enter the week you would like to reserve the rental for. If you don't care about specific dates, you can select a "floating week." By selecting a floating week, you can view all of the timeshares that have weekly openings available. Click on the "search" option to find a weekly timeshare that meets your location and week specifications.

    • 3). View the photos of the time share. Look at all of the amenities that are available, such as wireless Internet access, fishing, swimming pool, view, smoking/non-smoking, local eateries, and nearby entertainment.

    • 4). Contact the timeshare owner to advise him that you are interested in renting his timeshare. Generally, the contact information for the timeshare owner will be listed with the timeshare advertisement.

    • 5). Ask the timeshare owner if he is flexible on the rental rate. Some owners are willing to negotiate if your price is considered reasonable.

    • 6). Submit your signed rental agreement, damage deposit, and rental payment for the timeshare by the deadline that is quoted to you by the timeshare owner. If you fail to submit your paperwork, deposit, and rental payment by the deadline you risk loosing your reservation. The owner will likely rent the timeshare to another party in order to ensure a profit.

    • 7). Check into the timeshare according to the date specified in the rental agreement. Immediately inspect the property for any pre-existing damages. If you notice any damages contact the owner immediately to advise him of the conditions. Otherwise, the owner may accuse you of doing the damage and you will lose your damage deposit.

    • 8). Check out of the timeshare on the date and time that is specified in your timeshare rental agreement. Wait to receive your damage deposit back from the timeshare owner.
