    Domestic Checked Baggage Fees

    • For economy passengers traveling within the United States, Delta Airlines charges $25 for the first checked bag, $35 for the second and $125 for the third. For those who check-in online, Delta offers online discounts of $2 for the first piece of checked luggage and $3 for the second. First- class, business-class and elite-level passengers are allowed up to three pieces of checked baggage at no charge. All passengers are charged $200 for four or more items with a limit of 10, as well as oversized baggage fees that begin at $175 for each item more than 62 inches in size (combined length, width, and height) and overweight baggage fees, which begin at $90 for baggage weighing more than 50 pounds each.

    International Checked Baggage Fees

    • For international travel, economy passengers are allowed one piece of checked baggage at no cost but are charged between $27 to $50 for the second checked bag. The fee for the third checked bag varies by destination and includes $100 for Latin America, $150 for Pacific travel, and $200 for Transatlantic travel. First-class, business-class and elite-level travelers receive an allowance of up to three pieces of baggage at no cost. All passengers traveling with four or more pieces of checked baggage are charged fees of $100 for Latin America, $150 for Pacific travel, and $200 for Transatlantic flights while those checking six to 10 pieces of baggage are charged $600 for Latin America, $150 for Pacific travel, and $200 for Transatlantic flights. Oversized baggage fees are between $175 to $300 while overweight baggage fees range from $50 to $450 each.

    Traveling with Pets

    • For all passengers traveling with pets as carry-on baggage, one-way fees are $125 for travel within the U.S. and $200 for international travel. A one-way fee of $200 for both U.S. and international destinations is charged for pets checked in as baggage in the temperature-controlled and pressurized cargo hold. Passengers who checked their pets as baggage are charged an additional $200 each way for connection times of two hours or longer.

    In-Flight Fees

    • On all Delta Airlines flights of more than 250 miles, all passengers receive complimentary drinks and snacks, satellite television (if available) and limited in-flight entertainment. Economy passengers are charged between three and five dollars for additional snacks, six to $10 for meals, and five to seven dollars for alcoholic beverages. Headsets are offered for a fee of two dollars and expanded in-flight entertainment charges include: one dollar for a television episode, two dollars for an HBO episode, five dollars for a bundle of games, and six dollars for a movie. All first-class and business-class passengers elite-level and members receive all amenities at no extra charge.

    Additional Fees

    • Although all online booking and cancellations within 24 hours are complimentary for all passengers, direct ticketing incurs a booking fee between $25 to $35. Flight-change fees for economy passengers range from $150 to $250 but are complimentary (with exceptions) for first-class and business-class travelers as well as elite members. SkyMiles Award ticket changes for all passengers incur a fee of $150.
