So you've found out that your partner has cheated on you. From this point on, when we are talking about getting over an affair, it will have several meanings. It could be getting completely over it and move on with your life, or to overcome the situation and continue on with your relationship. We'll focus more on the second point.

If your partner has cheated on you, and you still think that your relationship can work, the first thing to do is to make up your mind and decide for yourself whether you really want to keep the relationship going.

Are you able to overcome the breach of trust between you and your partner? And you must be ready to forgive your significant other? If your partner is truly sorry for what he or she has done, the process will be much easier.

Sit down with your partner and talk things through calmly and rationally while giving yourself the right to feel anything that you want to. Be expressive about what you feel, but controlling your anger and let them know how this affair has affected you.

Know the reasons of the affair see if there's anything lacking in your relationship but be open-minded and don't be scared to point out each other's flaws. Find out if there is something within your partner's personal life that caused it, such as insecurity, inferiority or superiority, intimidation and such. You can be surprised at what little things that you pay no attention to may affect someone else.

Decide specifically what will it take to regain your trust and how long you might expect it to take. Maintaining a good communication with your partner throughout your daily routines is a good example. Better yet, try to find activities that you can do together with your partner. Simply put, spend more time with each other.

Most importantly, be patient. Everything takes time. Remember what brought you together and find that love again. If the two of you hit a dead end, talk to family and friends and ask for their support, or you can seek professional help.
