My Little Pony Party Ideas
- You can purchase invitations or you can make your own. Take pastel construction paper and cut pony shapes. Outline the shape with silver ink and add pony stickers. Fill in the party details on the back and place the invitations in pink, lavender or pale blue envelopes.
- Decorations can be simple. Use pink, lavender and pale blue balloons and crepe paper. Draw a rainbow on the driveway or sidewalk with chalk to show the way to the party. Use hay bales and horseshoes for an outdoor party and make a banner that says "Welcome to Ponyville". The birthday child can color My Little Pony coloring book pages to decorate the walls of the party room. You can use the coloring pages as place mats, too. Tablecloths, plates, plastic utensils and cups can all be purchased with My Little Pony characters on them, or you could use plain pastel colors.
- Hire a high school art student to paint the girls' faces with butterflies, stars, shamrocks and other symbols found on the ponies.
- 1. Obviously, Pin the Tail on the Pony would be a great game for this theme.
2. Hide small ponies throughout the party room or outside in the yard and have a pony hunt.
3. Hide pennies and small plastic ponies in a hay stack and challenge the party-goers find them.
4. For a new twist on Hot Potato, have guests sit in a circle on the floor. Music plays and stops randomly and the person holding the pony is the one who leaves the circle. The last one in the circle can keep the pony.
5. Mustang Tag: Choose one or two rustlers; the rest are ponies. Make a designated spot for the corral. Rustlers tag the ponies and they must go to the corral. - There are always rainbows in Ponyville, so a cake with a rainbow made of M&Ms is a great choice. You can also make a sheetcake and decorate it with My Little Pony figurines. Make "haystacks" by covering canned fried Chinese noodles with melted chocolate and letting them harden. Cut simple sandwiches into shapes such as stars, hearts, shamrocks and flowers. Make Jell-O jigglers and use a horse-shaped cookie cutter to make a cool treat.
- A rainbow drink can be made by freezing different flavors and colors of fruit drinks in ice-cube trays. Place frozen cubes in a large bowl. Let children use tongs to pick their favorite colors and put them in their cup. Pour clear or pale soda water over the cubes to make individual drinks.
