Upcoming Releases - Christmas 2006

23

Every year new Christmas music starts trickling in in the fall. This year we've got new albums from Third Day, Muriel Anderson, Todd Agnew, Wayburn Dean, Mary Mary, Linda McKechnie and Juju Song, the Annie Moses Band and a compilation from INO Records to look forward to.

Annie Moses Band

The Annie Moses Band released a new Christmas project, Bethlehem: House Of Bread, on August 29, in three different formats, CD, DVD, and piano/vocal Folio.
This is the first project to be released worldwide for AMB.

The album has also been released digitally through iTunes.com, Rhapsody.com, Wal-Mart.com, etc. In October, the album will be listed as a BMG Record release which goes to about 500,000 members.

Annie Moses Band featured some of the music from the new CD on a 2005 Christmas tour and ended up selling over 3,200 advanced orders for the project. Bethlehem: House Of Bread offers Chamber Pop musical styles and new lyrics for the season. The album features such Christmas classics as, “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen.”

“Overall, I would say Bethlehem: House Of Bread is one of the most spiritually powerful albums that Annie Moses Band has ever released,” says Annie Wolaver, lead vocalist and violinist for the group in a press release. “I think its promise lies in the good news that God and man may at last be reconciled through the baby of Bethlehem.”

Fellow band member Alex Wolaver (viola and vocalist) added, “This album, more than any other project we have ever done, really expresses the essence of the group.”

Todd Agnew

Todd will release Do You See What I See on October 3, 2006.

Wayburn Dean

Wayburn Dean is scheduled to release a Christmas project called Peace Child on October 3, 2006, through Wayjade Music/Exalt Music Group(EMG).
Wayburn and his wife, Janae, wrote the only original song on the project, "Peace Child," which was based on a story told by a missionary. The song was released to Inspo radio last Christmas.
  • "For weeks the two tribes had been killing each other. Don Richardson, missionary to a tribe in Irian Jaya, told the Indians something must be done. One day, he and his wife Carol watched as the two tribes came together to solve their differences by offering their own child as a sacrifice. One of the warring chiefs walked toward his tearful wife, tore his baby from her arms and marched down the center path between the enemy tribal warriors to offer the child. As the chief held the crying baby each of his warriors touched the helpless child as it passed by. The father placed his child in the hands of the enemy. The enemy chief walked back with the child down the path holding it out for each of his warriors to touch this peace sacrifice. The chief then disappeared into the bush with the baby never to be seen again. Don, through a labor of love, learned the tribal language and over time was able to share with the people that a Peace Child had already been offered. God, our heavenly Father, had sent His only son, Jesus, to earth as a "Peace Child" to bridge the gap between God and man. Don later wrote about his years working with the people of Irian Jaya in his book entitled Peace Child. It is our hope that as you listen to our song, "Peace Child," you will remember the words of Jesus as He said, "My peace I leave with you, My peace I give you.""

Third Day

Christmas Offerings, Third Day's first Christmas CD, will be the next installment in the Offerings worship series and will hit stores on October 17.
The 13-song album will feature nine classics and four original songs written by the band. While several songs were recorded in a traditional studio, some of the tunes were recorded live in the studio and backed by a live audience during a theater recording session at Nickel and Dime studios.

In a press release, Third Day members said, “The Offerings records are a special part of who we are as a band – we started the series for our fans - and we’ve wanted to do one reflecting the hope of Christmas for a while now. Because Offerings is about worship, this particular song collection reflects one of the most special times of the year. The experience of worshiping and singing classic Christmas songs together really brought to mind the heart of what Christmas is all about – even in the heat of summer.”

  • Merry Christmas (original)
