How to Use Echo Brush Cutters
- 1). Remove the screw from the air filter cover with a regular screwdriver. Pull the air filter from the filter box. Examine the air filter, if the air filter looks dirty or no light shines through the filter when held up to a light, replace the air filter before using the Echo brush cutter.
- 2). Fill the 1 gallon gas tank halfway with 89 octane gas. Pour the contents of the 50:1 two stroke oil container into the gas can. Put the cap on the gas can and shake the can vigorously to mix the oil with the gas. Fill the gas with an additional 1/2 gallon of gas to mix the fuel to the proper ratio.
- 3). Fill the gas tank of the Echo brush cutter with the gas and oil mixture. Install the cap on the gas tank.
- 4). Pump the primer bulb located near the base of the carburetor five to seven times. Flip the choke to start. You only need to move the choke when cold starting the brush cutter.
- 5). Pull the pull start handle until the motor starts. Move the choke lever to "run" after the motor starts or you have pulled the pull start handle five times.
- 6). Squeeze the throttle handle to spin the blade of the brush trimmer.
- 7). Lower the blade to the brush. Keep the spinning blade off the ground to avoid dulling the blade's cutting teeth as you cut through the brush.
