Technical Education Colleges
- Technical colleges, also known as community colleges, offer a large selection of programs, with choices of short-term certificates or two-year associate's degrees. Technical colleges are less expensive than traditional universities and may be closer to home, but still provide many of the same aspects of college life, such as athletics and student clubs.
- Located in Raleigh, North Carolina, Wake Tech offers training in web technology, cosmetology, automotive systems technology, pastry arts, foreign languages, pharmacy technology, computer programming, radiography and heavy equipment transport. While on campus, join or root for one of the school's Eagles teams, such as baseball, basketball, golf, softball, volleyball and cheerleading. Other ways to get involved on campus include student government, the computer club, the gospel choir, the game development club and the international friends club.
Applicants must have a high school diploma, GED or associate's degree. Students who meet certain academic standards may be excused from the pre-enrollment placement test.
