How to Get a Pop Server for a Cell Phone
- 1). Go to the Hotmail POP3 settings page (see Resources) and make a note of the information. Depending on your cell phone you may be asked for certain information to help the device access your messages. Enter "pop3.live.com" in the POP server field. The Hotmail site also provides other information your phone might need, such as: STMP server and TLS/SSL information. You can also access your Hotmail messages by going to the "mobile.live.com" site.
- 2). Go to the Yahoo! POP3 information page (see Resources) and make a note of the information. Enter the details into your cell phone as prompted when setting up email. In order to access your Yahoo! account using a POP3 server you must be signed up for Yahoo! Mail Plus. Alternatively, go to the Yahoo! Mobile site and enter your cell phone number into the box to have a link sent to your cell phone with set up information.
- 3). Sign into your Gmail account from your computer and click "Settings" at the top of the page. Select the "Forwarding and POP" tab and check "Enable POP For All Mail That Arrives From Now On" and save the changes. Next, go to the Gmail POP3 settings page and make a note of the information. Enter it as prompted when setting up email on your cell phone. POP3 access is free with Gmail.
