Have you ever tried fondue? If you haven't you are really missing a treat! I was introduced to it many years ago.
I had it at an Aunt's house and absolutely loved it.
She prepared a hot pot of oil; we had long forks, placed a chunk of meat at the end it and fried it in the oil.
Once it was done, we dipped it in a yummy dipping sauce.
It was so good! After I had it there I really didn't hear about it again until cheese fondue became popular.
It seemed like everyone I asked hadn't ever heard of it prepared the way I had it as a child.
A few years ago I was talking about fondue to a friend and she introduced me to this wonderful restaurant that served fondue the way I remembered.
In fact they specialize in fondue.
I was so happy when I discovered they had a restaurant near my home.
I made a reservation and gathered a few friends and off we went.
I was so impressed.
It was wonderful! We had a great time and I have been back many times.
I started thinking; how fun it would be to have a fondue party "JUST FOR FUN"! You could invite some friends, make a list of the menu items you would like to serve, have everyone bring a fondue pot and something to cook in it.
You could have a fondue pot of oil, a fondue pot of seasoned broth, a fondue pot of cheese, and a fondue pot of decadent chocolate.
You could serve fresh meat, fish, shellfish, pork, chicken, bread, fresh veggies, fresh fruit, & sweets, such as marshmallows & brownies.
The list is endless of what you could serve.
You would have something for everyone's tastes.
Look on the Internet or get a recipe book for making the cheese dip, seasoned broth, chocolate dip, and dipping sauces.
This sounds like so much fun I think I am going to do it myself real soon.
What a great way to get friends together and have a good time! The next time you are looking for something to serve that will truly entertain, invite some Friends over, purchase some Fresh ingredients, prepare to have Fun, and of course don't forget the Fondue!
