Monochromatic Layout

• Take a monochromatic approach to create a striking and elegant page layout for a christening photo. Use simple but striking colors, such as silver, black and white. Keep decorative accents minimal, perhaps only using one photo per page. Use cardstock to back a photo of the baby in his christening attire. Use small craft pearls or die-cut paper pieces to add a small amount of decoration to a page. Mount the photo in the center of the page. Add similarly colored accents to the border to finish this simple layout design.
  
  

Designs for Girls

• This theme is girl specific, and makes use of pink paper and accents to create a feminine scrapbook page to celebrate your baby's christening. Choose different shades of pink--select cardstock, scrapbooking paper and die-cut paper elements to coordinate. Select one large picture or several small photographs of the baby and the christening event that coordinate well with the shades of pink. Matte each photograph separately. Arrange them on the page. Add such elements as die-cut papers and stickers to create a coordinated scrapbook design. Use gel pens in different shades of pink or silver to add notes or messages to the page. If you're not a fan of pink, use shades of yellow or lavender.
  
  

Designs for Boys

• Use different shades of blue to create a soft but masculine scrapbook page to celebrate your child's christening. Choose light shades of blue to work with, especially colors that coordinate well with the picture or pictures you have chosen. Baby blue is best, because it is soft and light. Mount each photo on a different colored sheet of cardstock. Arrange them on the scrapbook page. Add such coordinating elements as stickers or die-cut paper elements, or create your own accents with colored pens. Use ink that will last--look for archival-quality pens. This idea also works well with shades of green or chocolate.
