Rabbit Cages - Why All-Wire Cages Work

32
Are you looking to build your own rabbit cages for your beloved rabbits? Are you unsure about which kind of cage to make? I had faced this very same problem a few weeks ago when I was about to buy two rabbits as a birthday present for my niece.
I thought I could save some money by building the cage, but I ended up confusing myself at first.
I learned that there are basically two kinds of cages for your rabbits: (1) solid cages and (2) all-wire cages.
And by asking my friends and some pet store personnel for advice, I realized that the cage made of wire was much better than the first kind of cage.
They gave me plenty of reasons defending their claim.
For example, wire cages are much easier to clean.
All you need to do is place a tray under the cage, so that the rabbit droppings will fall onto the tray.
You can also place sheets of paper on the tray, so that you can just get rid of the paper each day.
As an inevitable result of this, the wire cage will not be plagued by foul odors.
On the other hand, solid cages made of materials that are not only difficult to clean, but require constant cleaning as well.
They also absorb foul odors which stick to the cage no matter how well you clean them.
And because you are planning to build your own cage, it would be nice to know that wire cages are much easier to build than the solid ones.
In order to build a wire cage the first thing you need to do is decide on how big you want it to be.
Then you buy and cut wire sheets of the corresponding size and twist them together to form a square or rectangle.
You can further strengthen the cage using clips and similar materials.
This is why you should choose to build all-wire rabbit cages, like I did.
