I found out about this campground in the New York camping guide, and I tent camped there in August 2007.

Describe your camping trip:

We always seek national and secondly state campgrounds for their natural settings, camp space and minimal man-made attractions. For this reason, this campground was a big disappointment.

Pros: Great for large groups of campers with lots of equipment wishing for a large family reunion type environment.


Easy access.

Cons: Located adjacent to the highway. We could not only hear, but see cars whizzing by. Campsites were not wooded and very closely located to one another. There was no attempt to divide trailers (ie. generators) from tent campers. Our next door neighbor ran his large truck to recharge his generator, then ran his generator to run his motor coach. Never saw them outside. Approved times for this were 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, so if you wanted to take a day to relax in the campsite, forget it.

Nearby attractions: Good hiking to the falls. The Finger Lakes make for very scenic driving tours.

Further comments: Described and rated in the New York campground guide as an award winner, it did not meet our expectations.
