Firstly you need choose a specific topic for your blog, your blog should be very targeted to that one subject and nothing else.
If you have another interest you want to write about then start a separate blog site for it.
For your subject you should choose something you know a lot about, this can be anything from a sport you play to makeup, the most important thing is that its got to be something you enjoy and can write confidently about.

It takes care of absolutely everything for you in two simple steps and you'll up and running in less than 2 minutes.
For your blog title choose words that people would use when search for your topic in Google.
For example if you site is about Golf then name your blog 'how to improve your golf' or 'golf lessons for beginners', 'how to learn to play golf' ECT.
Each day write something new about your topic and make sure all your content is being written by you, don't be lazy and steal it from other sites.
Google will find out and it will be the kiss of death for your blog.
Next write some articles of 250 -- 300 words about your topic.
These articles will not go on your blog.
Instead they'll be submitted to EzineArticles with a resource box having links back to your blog.
That's the fastest way to get your blog on Google's radar and once it sees that you are updating your blog each day with valuable content it will visit your blog very regularly and you'll start to get higher and higher in its search results.
