- Chocolate is a versatile food that can be used in different forms to garnish a cake and other desserts. Fill a decorating bag with melted chocolate. Use a small round tip to pipe the melted chocolate onto wax paper. Create any design you want on wax paper. You may want to put a piece of paper under the wax paper with a design on it that you can trace. Allow the design to cool completely and remove the designs with a sharp knife.
