Tea Tree Oil as a Yeast Infection Home Remedy
Tea Tree oil as a yeast infection home remedy is actually a relatively new treatment.
Although Tea Tree oil has been around for quite a long time, it has only very recently come to the attention of the western world.
At the very beginning of this new association of Tea Tree oil meets West, it was considered the new wonder remedy.
To the masses, this wonderful new oil seemed to be the cure to just about any and every problem they were beset by.
Acne, dandruff, infections, you name it and tea tree oil was being touted as the best cure you could find.
All this fame had to go somewhere naturally and if you might remember, the western world was bombarded with product after product containing tea tree oil in some form or other.
For the case of yeast infections though, all the hype really is true and although it is too strong to be used on its own you can still use it effectively.
You might find yourself faced with an uncomfortable stinging sensation if you apply it directly to any sensitive skin.
To do so, if you just follow the few simple steps I've outlined below, you'll find yourself with a tea tree oil remedy that might well be able to rid you of your yeast infection.
Use: o a few drops of Tea Tree oil o 1 Tampon o Lubrication (such as K-Y Jelly) For starters, coat the top half of the tampon in the lubricant of your choice.
This is to stop the tampon from absorbing the tea tree oil.
Next, add a few drops of the tea tree oil onto the tampon, and insert into the vagina.
If you find that the tea tree oil stings when you do it this way, you can always use an applicator tampon instead.
In this case all you need to do is to expose the top half of the tampon and apply the lubricant and the tea tree oil like you did for the earlier method, then place the tampon back inside the applicator.
You'll also find that some people use Olive Oil as a substitute for the lubricant.
It works just as well, since what you want is something to stop the absorption process of the tea tree into the tampon.
Tea Tree Oil Cream Applying Tea Tree oil in cream form to the effected areas is a great way of getting the effects of Tea Tree oil without all the hassle of having to prepare it specially.
Just apply the cream to the vulva almost daily.
I would however be careful about applying the cream to in the vagina as not everyone will get a soothing sensation due to the cream content mixed with the Tea Tree oil.
