Create the transom that will be used as a support for the frames of the counter.
To make one, select the spruce board with size 4 ft long, 16 and 1/2 by 2 inches.
Make a trapezoidal shape figure by cutting the spruce board 42 and 7/16" in length and make and angle cut that will make the top side 8 inches shorter than the bottom side.
Cut a grove with 2inches deep and 14 inches long at the center top of the trapezoid figure.
2.
Get the spruce board with the size of 16 ft long, 2 in by 4 in and round off its ends.
3.
Get the spruce board of size 2 ft long, 2" by 4" to create the stem.
Make the end left side of the stem 1/4" narrower and 2" down the 4" in length by cutting a small grove onto the left end side.
Then cut the right side by ensuring that it is 1/4" narrower and 2 3/16" down the 4" length.
Make the 2 ends a mirror of each other by repeating the whole process again.
4.
Create the sides, using the 16" by 4" by 1" spruce boards, cut an angular or V-shaped cut of about 1 1/2" wide and 1/2" deep in the 10" width side of both planks.
Ensure that the two boards will fit perfectly together.
Use nail to attach the two boards together.
Repeat this process to create the other side of the boat.
5.
Put a strip of white lead in the V-shape cut in the stem then secure the planks into the stem by nailing both sides of planks to the stem.
6.
Put the trapezoidal transom in a way that the groove is facing the sky.
Attach the left side of the boat to the transom by the use of nails.
7.
Use the random orbit sander to smooth the edges and sides of the boat.
8.
Use nails to attach the keel to the transom and stem of the boat.
9.
Use nail to attach the keel to each of the bottom boards in the boat.
10.
Patch the cracks and cover the nail holes with white lead.
Cover the big cracks with metal sheeting.
11.
Place some boards for bench seats along the sides of the boat about 2 to 3 ft apart from each other.
12.
Install the outboard motor to the stem of the boat.
You have already created a simple but amazing wooden boat.
