Maggie Quigley explains how her name got shortened to just Maggie Q: "What happened was when I was living and working in Hong Kong, one of the biggest newspapers there when they first started writing about me, around seven/eight years ago, they couldn't pronounce last name.

I think to them it was just like, 'Oh, uh.' And so they printed Q, Maggie Q. And because it was a big paper, everyone followed them."

Maggie Q was born and raised in Hawaii and then moved to Asia to pursue a career in modeling after graduating from high school. The exotic beauty has graced the covers of more than 100 magazines including the Asian editions of Time and Cosmopolitan.

After establishing herself as a model, Maggie Q got involved in the film industry in Hong Kong where she caught the attention of martial arts master and international star, Jackie Chan. Maggie Q calls Jackie Chan her 'boss' and has trained with Chan and his stunt guys for years. All that training helped her prepare to take on the role of a secret agent in her first American film, "Mission Impossible III."
