What Happened to Pearl Harbor Day? Are We Doomed to Repeat?

22
Each year you see less and less in the media about Pearl Harbor Day, and that seems like such a slap in the face to the greatest attack ever on US Soil.
So many people died on that day and it caused us to get into WWII.
Many lost their lives in the battle that ensued in the South Pacific.
The US Navy was quite decisive in their victory against the Japanese in WWII.
If we allow this piece of history to be buried in our past, surely we will be doomed to repeat it.
Actually all mankind will be involved in any third world-war.
No one really wants that do they; surely not.
Today, the US and Japan are friends and strong allies and great trading partners.
This is a testament to the strength of diplomacy, commerce and humankind's struggle to make peace in the world.
It is quite impressive what has been accomplished since that horrible war.
Still, we must not forget the events that lead up to war, nor should we brush history under the carpet.
For if we do that, we will be unpleasantly surprised again in the future or one of our allies will and the whole cycle of destruction will continue.
Is it really smart to modify the history in order to make everyone feel warm and fuzzy?   Political correctness has severe problems leading to the law of unintended consequences.
We must not re-write history and if the media will not do justice to those who died on December 7, 1941, then all Americans should take the day off to remember and not buy one single newspaper or watch any TV.
That's the least we can do to honor our US service men, who were attacked in Pearl Harbor on that day.
Please consider this and think on it.
