How to Ship a Car From Hawaii to the East Coast
- 1). Check that your vehicle meets the standard for what Pasha Hawaii considers a "personal vehicle." That is as any self-propelled unit that is less than 21 feet and 8 inches long, 8 feet wide, and 7 feet high. Any cars that are larger than this must contact Pasha about oversized cargo shipping options.
- 2). Book your vehicle to be shipped with Pasha either on their website or contact them by phone to book in person. The East Coast destination port cities are: Baltimore, Maryland; Edison, New Jersey; Atlanta, Georgia; Orlando, Florida; and Charleston, South Carolina. It is possible to preview what the cost of the shipping will be by entering the departure and destination ports into the Pasha website. When you have properly booked your vehicle, make sure to take note of your booking confirmation number.
- 3). Prepare your vehicle for shipping by ensuring that the vehicle is in good working condition with no leaking fluids. Make sure that the battery is in fine operating condition, as Pasha does not take responsibility for replacing dead batteries. Disconnect any car alarms installed after the car was manufactured. Finally, remove any personal items such as CDs, tools, first-aid kits, portable music players and steering wheel locks.
- 4). Bring with you a copy of the booking confirmation form or booking number, a photo ID, the original (or notarized copy of) vehicle registration and title, and the lien holder letter of authorization. The lien holder letter must have on it the VIN, the vehicle year, the vehicle make and model, the destination port, and the name of the person authorized to ship the car.
- 5). Pick up your car at least four days after it has arrived in its destination port. You will receive the estimated time of arrival at the destination port from Pasha when you drop your car off to be shipped in Hawaii. Also, once the vehicle is on the ship, an arrival notice will be sent to the owner's house, giving the estimated time of arrival. If the vehicle is not picked up promptly, a storage fee of $25 per day will be charged.
