Your Relationship is Your Relationship
Sometimes you get angry at your spouse and want to vent. You find a friend or family member. Many times they will agree with you. Some may tell you the truth or what they think you should do. Are they in successful relationships? What is a successful relationship? Do they have their own mate? Do they have any idea about what it takes to make a relationship work?
No one can tell you when to get into a relationship and know one can tell you when to get out. Someone may need to tell you when to get in and out of a relationship, because they may have a different perspective, but that decision can only be made by you and possibly your spouse.
Clearly it is less expensive to talk to a friend or family member than to pay someone to listen. But it is not a good idea to share too much of your personal information with your friends or family members. And by all means, do not vent on Facebook or MySpace. Many times you just need someone to listen, you really do not want any input, you just want to vent. You just feel like you need to say it out loud.
Your friends should not know your mate or spouse as well as you do. In addition too much information makes your friends see your mate differently. When you get over the issue or problem, your friends and family may still be holding a grudge, still holding resentment. Sometimes it will even make your spouse uncomfortable around your friends and family in the future. Family and friends do not like it when it appears that someone is mistreating a loved one.
Do not get me wrong some situations should definitely be communicated, like any abusive situation.Speak up [http://speechrecognitionsoftwarereview.com/dragon-voice-recognition/] and speak up often. Make SURE someone knows about those situations. In addition know that there are different types of abuse, emotional, verbal and physical. Also be aware that women as well as men are victims of abuse.
For some of the other arguments couples have, my suggestion and advice, drive around, pace the floor and most importantly talk to God. Vent to God. He will not hold resentment. He can help you and guide you in the direction you should go. If you have a right relationship with God, then you will have a better relationship with your spouse. You will have help that knows you and your spouse.
Remember, your relationship is your relationship and does not have to be like anyone elses relationship.
