How to Bypass the iPod Password to Update
- 1). Open the iTunes software on your computer. If you don't have iTunes installed, see Resource for download link.
- 2). Connect the iPod to the computer using the USB cable.
- 3). Press and hold down both the "Power" and "Home" keys simultaneously for 10 seconds or until the screen goes black. Now release the "Power" key.
- 4). Release the "Home" key when the message "We have detected an itouch in recovery mode" appears. Confirm that the iPod will be restored.
- 5). Hit "Back up" to save your iPod settings when prompted.
- 6). Select the "Restore" option. Allow restoration to begin. Make sure to keep the iPod connected to the computer and iTunes open. Once complete, the Apple logo will display on the iPod screen, and iTunes will notify you when the process is complete.
- 1). Open iTunes and connect the iPod to the computer using the USB cable.
- 2). Select your iPod under "Devices" in the left pane.
- 3). Click the "Summary" tab.
- 4). Click the "Check for Update" button. The iTunes software will check for any available updates. Follow the additional prompts to confirm and install the updates.
