How to Replace a Battery in a Square Seiko Wrist Watch
- 1). Unclasp the Seiko watch. Use a pointed tool and press down on the clasp's spring if it has a metal band.
- 2). Place the watch in a case holding vise. This will hold the watch steady during the removal of the back.
- 3). Feel around the edges for a small lip. If there is one, insert a flat head screwdriver into it while keeping the watch in the vise. Wiggle the screwdriver around until the back pops off. If it does not have a lip then you need to use a watch back removal tool. Adjust the width and line the two pointed ends in with the indentations on the back. Twist the tool counterclockwise until the back screws off.
- 4). Lift the inside plastic cover with tweezers. Remove this and set it aside. Use the tweezers to take out the battery as well.
- 5). Replace the battery. Buy a new battery that has the same number as the one listed on the back of the old battery. Use the tweezers to insert the battery with the number facing up.
- 6). Reassemble the watch back. Insert the plastic cover and screw on the back. Pop the back in place by pressing squarely on the center if it does not need to be screwed on.
