How to Make a Simple Bracelet From Boondoggle

10
    • 1). Cut equal lengths of two colors of boondoggle with your scissors. To make a child's size bracelet, you will need boondoggle strands 3 1/2 feet long. For an adult's bracelet, the strands should be 4 1/2 feet long.

    • 2). Cross your strands with one on top of the other with the middles crossing. Fold the ends of the bottom strand over the middle to create two parallel loops.

    • 3). Slide each end of the top strand over the first loop and under the second loop, pulling them in opposite directions. Pull the strands tight to secure your stitch.

    • 4). Flip over your woven square to look at the wrong side of the stitch. Fold the ends of the strand you started with over the middle again to make two loops. Weave the ends of the other strand over the first loop and under the second loop, as before. Pull the strands tight to tighten the stitch. This will hide the crossed-over part on the back of your first stitch.

    • 5). Fold the ends of the first strands over again and weave the ends of the other strand over the first loop and under the second. Continue this pattern of weaving until your bracelet is as long as you need it. It will be a fitted bracelet that you cannot adjust, so make sure it's large enough to slide over your hand.

    • 6). Use a toothpick to loosen the first stitch you did on the opposite end. Trim your strand ends to create points. Weave the strand ends into the opposite end of your bracelet to join the ends together. Check to make sure your checkerboard pattern will match so the bracelet will look seamless. Pull the strands tight to connect the ends.

    • 7). Leave the bracelet set in this position with the extra strands sticking out for at least eight hours. This trains the boondoggle to stay in this woven position without unraveling. Trim the ends off with scissors.
