How to Upconvert DVD to HDTV
- 1). Place your DVD or Blu-ray player near your TV and plug it into the wall outlet.
- 2). Plug the HDMI cable into the "Output" port on the back of the DVD player.
- 3). Plug the other end of the HDMI cable into an open "Input" port on your HDTV.
- 4). Turn on the DVD player and TV and set the TV to the HDMI input.
- 5). Set the DVD player to upconvert to the native format of your TV. If you have a 720p TV, set it to 720p. If you have a 1080p TV, set it to upconvert to 1080p. Some DVD players may do this automatically. Refer to your player's owner's manual for instructions on how to do this.
- 6). Insert a DVD and play. The image will be deinterlaced to appear on your progressive scan TV and upconverted to the desired HD format for a clearer, more vibrant picture.
