How to Order a Charger for a Laptop Computer
- 1). Refer to your laptop's user manual to find the compatible charger model for your particular laptop computer. If you do not have your user manual, use an online search engine to locate a compatible adapter charger.
- 2). Search for the charger at a reputable online retailer, such as Amazon.com, eBay.com or Newegg.com. Type in your laptop's make and model number followed by the word "charger" or "adapter" into the search box of each of the websites, which are found near the top of the Web page. For example, if you have a Sony brand laptop with the model number "VGP-AC19V19," type "Sony VGP-AC19V1 adapter" in the search box.
- 3). Go to your local electronic store to purchase your laptop computer charger. Many large brand laptop computers such as Sony, Toshiba and Hewlett-Packard will use a universal charger for their own brand, so you may have a good chance of finding the correct charger in the store. Since some electronic stores have a website with their inventory; save the trouble of driving to the store by first checking their online website or calling the store.
