What Can You Do To Get Some More "Me" Time In?

47
When you have kids, your days can be packed from 6:30 am on dealing with making lunches, rides to school, scheduling hair cuts and dentist appointments, school pick ups, sports after school, homework help , making meals and so much more.
What are you doing for YOU? What can you do to get some more "me" time in ? How can you be less overwhelmed by all the responsibilitie that seem to start over again each morning and continue up till you go to sleep? One thing that can be helpful is to try a sleep-over trade off on the weekend.
You can have your kids go to someone's home (or two homes if there is a big age gap of the kids) and then have their friends come on the following weekend.
This can give you time to have one weekend for taking an exercise class, doing something you find relaxing or just sleeping in a bit.
Other things that will help give you a little time is to have your kids do a bit more around the home.
For instance, having them help with setting and clearing the table for dinner, yard work and an indoors house task is good for their own development plus a way you get a bit of a break.
Keep a book in the car because this can be a break you enjoy during waiting times in school lines, half-time at games and waiting rooms for doctor's appointments.
Reading can be a little oasis where you refresh and stimulate your mind.
Check with community centers as well since you could also take your kids to a Saturday morning class in crafts or another subject and find a class for yourself at the same time in yoga, tai-chi or a subject that interests you.
Without some "me" time it's easy to burn out so don't forget to do something for your own energy replenishment.
When people don't take time for themselves resentment can grow and you can also get exhausted.
Plus you are giving a message to other people when you do things for yourself that says, "Hey , I count too".
