State Grants

• Grant funds from a state vocational rehabilitation service provide assistance to adults with disabilities who are required to drive as a part of their duties for employment. • Private funding sources offer financial assistance to individuals with disabilities. While the monetary awards and guidelines vary per grant, requests that enhance the overall quality of life of the disabled personal are considered. • Federal grants for individuals with a disability are offered on an annual basis through county level agencies. Departments, such as Job and Family Services and the local health department, aid residents find grant programs that address the needs of the disabled. Mobility based grants permit requests for wheelchair lift mechanisms and the adaptation of a vehicle for a disabled driver.
