How to Make Cup Trophies
- 1). Roll out 1 lb. of polymer clay using a rolling pin until it becomes a sheet that is 1/4-inch thick.
- 2). Press a large, 6-inch circular cookie cutter into the polymer clay sheet. This will cut out the basic form for the cup.
- 3). Drape the clay circle over an upturned drinking glass, centering it over the glass. Smooth the clay circle over the glass bottom gently, allowing the clay to conform to the shape of the glass.
- 4). Customize the trophy by writing on the soft clay with a toothpick.
- 5). Set the glass with the clay upright on a cookie sheet.
- 6). Sculpt a rectangle from polymer clay that measures 2 inches by 4 inches. Press the rectangle vertically onto a tabletop to compress and widen the bottom slightly. This will be the bottom of the trophy. Place the form onto the cookie sheet next to the glass.
- 7). Bake the forms in a 200-degree Fahrenheit oven for 10 minutes. Allow the forms to cool for 30 minutes, then remove the clay cup from the drinking glass.
- 8). Heat up a hot glue stick inside of a hot glue gun for five minutes. Squeeze a dime-sized dollop of hot glue onto the narrow end of the trophy base and press the bottom of the clay cup onto the hot glue dollop. Hold the cup in place on the base for three minutes to allow the hot glue to cool and harden.
- 9). Spray the entire outside of the trophy using an art adhesive spray. Peel the back off a sheet of gold leaf and press the end of a butter knife onto the corner of the leaf. Peel up the gold leaf from the sheet and drape it over the outside of the trophy. Tap the gold leaf onto the trophy using a soft watercolor paintbrush. Repeat to cover the trophy completely with gold leaf.

Repeat as many times as necessary until you have as many cup trophies as you need.
