Video Transcript
Hi, I'm Sandra Garratt, and today I'm going to give you some tips on how to make the T-shirt that people wear to the gym. So before you go to the gym, you're going to want to have the popular T-shirt to wear to the gym. The materials you're going to need would be a basic cotton and I like the organic cotton, a basic white T-shirt here, very simple and plain. You will also need a pair of sharp sewing shears as well as a straight edge ruler and a piece of tailor's chalk to cut your lines. So let's get started. When you're working out you want to be able to move and be aware of your body alignment and show off that good figure that you're working so hard for. So on this one this basic T-shirt our first job, you're going to find the center point here and mark this here. So we're going to create kind of a V, a little bit of a slashed V neckline and then because this is a longer T-shirt we're going to make a cut mark about 14 inches up on each side, just measure that right there. I'm using my tape measurer on this and then we just cut up the side seam and sometimes with the cotton knits, they will tend to torque a little bit and that's just part of the knitting on the T-shirt goods. So we cut up to our cut line on 14 inches, maybe spread this here and again just cut up on the side seam to your end point and then spread it out again because we want a little bit lower V neckline so we're just going to cut down our marked line to about 5 inches. So this now folds back into a, kind of an attractive V neckline and our sides are open and she can, when she puts this on, can take those side pieces around and wrap and tie in front. Also gives her a lot of additional room on the side for ease but once you get this on wrap and tie to your particular figure type and you're good to go.
