With the need of printing in almost all factions of work, printers have fast become our necessities. But with the constant use of it, in no time the ink cartridge is depleted and has to be replaced with a new one. Along with the ink, there is a certain chip too that can be found that communicates with the printer. Generally, in printers there are typically two cartridges installed- one for the black ink and the other for colored ink. You can even have a dedicated cartridge for a primary color. Cartridges are generally specific to the printers and on a given printer only its cartridge will work and no other. Your system may warn you of the low levels of ink at this point and you must change your ink cartridge promptly then to have the printer perform best.

The difference between them is that while the toner is carbon powder bonded by a polymer to make printing possible in laser printers, ink cartridges are replaceable components that contain the liquid ink and sometimes the print head.
