How to Install a Tow Bar on an Isuzu

    • 1). Remove the mounting bolts holding the stabilizer mounting brackets to the frame using the socket wrench. These bolts can be found on the side of the lower portion of the frame. Put the bolts aside as they will not be reused.

    • 2). Drop the stabilizer bar down toward the ground.

    • 3). Position the receiver brace on the frame so it is between the tie-down plates and the lower section of the frame.

    • 4). Align the mounting holes in the receiver braces and the stabilizer bar brackets. Place a lock washer and a flat washer onto each of the bolts supplied with the tow bar mounting bracket. Insert the bolts in the holes and tighten with the socket wrench.

    • 5). Verify that the mounting holes in the rear of the receiver brace align properly with the mounting holes for the stabilizer bar bracket at the bottom of the frame rails.

    • 6). Insert bolts with a lock washer and a fender washer into the mounting holes in the brackets for the stabilizer bar and the receiver braces. Tighten the bolts with the socket wrench.

    • 7). Place the front braces for the tow mounting bracket into the receiver braces. Secure the braces with the draw pins and the spring pins.

    • 8). Mount the tow bar to the tow bar mounting bracket. Follow the instructions for the tow bar to install it properly to the mounting bracket.

    • 9). Attach one end of the safety cables to the receiver braces using the cable connectors. Attach the other end of the safety cables to the tow bar on the tow vehicle.
