Keep your toothbrush as far away from your toilet as possible. Keeping it in a medicine cabinet is even better. Fecal bacteria can become airborne and reach a distance of up to five feet every time a toilet is flushed.

Clean your toilet and shower frequently. The more bacteria you allow to build up, the more unsanitary your bathroom becomes. Make sure to clean with a product like Lysol that kills bacteria. Not all cleaning products do.
