#1 - Limit your intake of carbohydrates.
That's right -- don't believe the Food Guide Pyramid! Eating 6-11 servings of carbohydrate-rich foods each day has led to skyrocketing obesity and heart disease rates in the past 30 years.
To live a long, healthy life, make the switch from a carb-based diet to a plant-based one.

) #2 - Avoid processed foods and cooking oils (especially corn and canola varieties).
These food items contain harmful Omega-6 fatty acids, which promote inflammation in the arteries and encourages plaque formation.
Switch to coconut oil for cooking, and olive oil for salads.
#3 - Take antioxidant supplements.
Research has shown that antioxidants get rid of cancer- and disease-causing free radicals in the body, so adopting an aggressive antioxidant regimen should help you avoid the more serious diseases.
Of course, natural antioxidant supplements are always better than pharmaceutical ones.
