How to Replace the Battery in My Garmin c550
- 1). Set the Garmin c550 face up on a firm work surface.
- 2). Slide one end of a plastic prying tool between the outer silver bezel and the inner screen trim. Pull the plastic prying tool away from the GPS screen. Move the tool to another section of the bezel. Repeat the procedure until the outer bezel pops from the c550.
- 3). Remove the four screws exposed after removing the bezel with a flat-head screwdriver. Set the screws in a safe location.
- 4). Push the end of the plastic prying tool into the seam between the upper and lower sections of the Garmin c550. Twist the handle of the tool to separate the unit body. Gently lift the sections of the body apart.
- 5). Pull the battery connector from the battery.
- 6). Turn the screw of the battery clamp counterclockwise with a flat-head screwdriver. Remove the battery from the Garmin c550.
- 7). Set a replacement battery into the battery compartment. Push and hold the battery clamp over the new battery. Secure the clamp with the clamp screw.
- 8). Push the battery connector into the battery.
- 9). Snap the two halves of the c550 together. Tighten the halves of the c550 by reinstalling the four screws. Push the bezel into the front of the unit to complete the installation.
