31
    • 1). Set a food thermometer in the oven and close the Hotpoint oven door. Press “Bake” and use the number pads to set the oven temperature to 350 degrees. Press “Start” to let the oven heat.

    • 2). Wait 20 minutes to allow time for the oven to warm up. Open the oven door and look at the thermometer. If the thermometer displays a temperature that is 10 degrees more or less than 350 degrees, the thermostat requires adjustment.

    • 3). Press “Bake” and “Broil Hi/Lo” at the same time until “SF” shows on the display.

    • 4). Push “Bake” and a two-digit number will appear. Touch “Bake” one time to turn the oven temperature down or twice to turn the oven temperature up.

    • 5). Touch the corresponding number pads for the amount you wish to increase or decrease the oven temperature. Ex: press “1” and “0” to increase or decrease the thermostat by 10 degrees. If the Hotpoint range has “+” or “-“ key pads, use the “+” key pad to increase the temperature in 1-degree increments and “-“ to decrease the temperature in 1-degree increments.

    • 6). Press “Start” to confirm once the desired thermostat adjustment has been made.

    • 7). Set the food thermometer in the oven and shut the door, then touch “Bake” and set the temperature to 350 degrees.

    • 8). Wait 20 minutes and open the door to check the thermometer. If the thermometer is at 350 degrees or within 10 degrees thereof, the thermostat has been corrected. If the temperature remains more than 10 degrees more or less than 350 degrees, repeat the adjustment procedure until the temperature reads accurately.
