Bryan White Christmas Concert
It was a very cold and windy night. Even though the holiday lights and decorations lit the streets, it did not feel very Christmasy because there was no snow. We made our way to the venue and found our seats. It was a smaller venue, much the same size as a high school gymnasium only with a stage on one end and seats circling an upper balcony area.
When Bryan took the stage he was alone with his guitar and he treated his audience to a solo perfornance leading off his set with "Love Is The Right Place." Mr White told us that his band was not able to be with him tonight.
It was a rare opportunity for Bryan to showcase his wonderful voice in an intimate setting. It also set the mood for an enjoyable evening that included a blend of Bryan's #1 hits "So Much For Pretending" and "Rebecca Lynn" along with select Christmas songs from his self-titled Christmas album, Bryan White My Christmas Project, including "White Christmas." His humorous and friendly interaction with the audience included a sing-a-long to "The First Noel" added to the evening's delightful and festive holiday atmosphere. The evening ended far to soon as Bryan finished his set with "Someone Else's Star."
Following the concert, fans were able to meet and visit with Bryan in the lobby area of the venue. Bryan took time to take photos, sign autographs and visit with each fan. I had the opportunity to visit with Bryan briefly. The graciousness and warmth he showed me during my conversation with him was a perfect ending to an enjoyable evening.
I purchased his Christmas album and listened to it on my way home.
It's amazing to me the power that music has to change your mood from bah-hum-bug to festive. I definately left the concert with renewed holiday spirit.
