How to Mount an LCD Flat Panel on a Wall Stud
- 1). Stand the TV up and look for the bracket holes. If they are covered, pry off the plastic covers.
- 2). Take the mount bracket apart into its two halves. The bracket slides apart. Hook the half of the bracket that goes to the TV onto the bars in the bracket holes on the back of the TV.
- 3). Place the LCD flat panel up against the wall in the approximate location where you want it to hang. You will need help lifting it up. Have someone else stand back and tell you when it is at the appropriate height. Mark the wall for the location of the bottom of the TV panel.
- 4). Lower the TV and measure from the bottom of it to the lower part of the bracket. Use that measurement on the wall where the mark is. Measure up from the mark to indicate the distance from the bottom of the TV to the bracket. Make a new mark.
- 5). Use a stud finder to locate two studs on the wall where you made the new mark. Attach the wall half of the mount to the located studs with the hardware that came with the mount. Use a drill to attach the bracket. Attach one screw and use a level to adjust it before you screw in the others.
- 6). Connect the flat panel up to the cable outlet and power before you hang it on the wall.
- 7). Lift the LCD screen up to the wall mount and slide the TV mount onto it. Adjust the flat panel to where you want it by sliding the bracket. Tighten the brackets to secure it in place.
