- According to the Seussville website, Dr. Seuss was actually Theodor Seuss Geisel, who authored over 40 books in his long career. Characters from his books are well recognized, for multiple generations have grown up on Dr. Seuss.Some of the most familiar characters are the Cat in the Hat with his white-and-red-striped top hat, elephant Horton with his precious adopted egg or one of his Who friends, or the Grinch, with or without a Santa outfit.
- Waldo is more than just a children's book character; he is an ubiquitous phenomena who has even been found in Google maps. Waldo is continually getting lost in the crowd, and children must scour crowd scenes to find him waving at them. To dress as Waldo, wear a red-and-white-striped, long-sleeve shirt, white ski cap with a red ball attached to the top and a red brim, blue jeans and black-rimmed glasses. To act like Waldo, hide in the crowd and wave to your friends.
- Max is the lead character in "Where the Wild Things Are." Unhappy with his home life, he escapes into a fantasy world populated with the monsters of his dreams. Because of his wildness, Max is declared the king and leads his imaginary friends through dancing and smashing. To dress as Max, add a bushy tail and a white hood with ears to a white jumpsuit. Complete the outfit with a yellow crown to go wild for the night.
