Six Quick & Easy Ways to Save Money

23
Many people are living paycheck to paycheck and barely able to pay their bills. It would be a lot more convenient if you had more money to save and use on things besides your expenses. Here are some quick tips that can help you save money and lower your costs:

1. Cut your food expenses

If you are eating fast food everyday this especially applies to you. Rather than pay seven to ten dollars for a meal and a drink, it is much easier if you buy food from the grocery store and prepare food yourself. If you must eat fast food, order a water with your food instead of a drink and that will save you at least one to two dollars every time.

2. Stop your cable television services

Are you watching mainly local channels? You can catch most of your favorite television shows on the local channel's website instead. Another website you might want to look into is hulu.com, as they also carry television shows on local channels that you can stream onto your computer.

3. Ask for better deals

This may seem obvious, but so few people do it. Ask if there are special deals or promotions happening wherever you are spending money. You could be spending more money than you actually need to on things that could be of lesser value.

4. Cut cellular phone costs

Check your usage of minutes, data, and text messaging monthly. If you are not close to hitting the allotted quota for the month, you should scale back on your plan. You can check your usage either on the phone itself, your cellular company website, or by calling their customer service.

5. Use Craigslist

A lot of the items you need to buy you can find on Craigslist. Why pay more at a retail store when you can pay a lot less and save money?

6. Save on Insurance

There are many different companies and policies out there. It is in your best interest to get an insurance quote and compare prices to see what best fits your needs.

These tips are all straightforward and also obvious, however, most importantly, it is up to you to take the action to follow through and actually put in the effort to save money. Reading information is one thing, but executing on the information and new knowledge that you have learned is another. Good luck on your new money saving adventures!
