Get Ready to Vote

In January and February 2011, About.com readers nominated the cell phones that they thought were the best available today. Below, you'll see pictures of the five finalists. Now it's time to vote for the winner. Voting will be open from February 11 to March 8, 2011. Examine each of the five phones that made the list, and then vote for the one that you think is the best available today.

Nominees are listed in alphabetical order.

Jitterbug J

Not everyone wants or needs a complicated cell phone. That's where the Jitterbug J comes in. Designed to offer "ultimate simplicity" for seniors or anyone else who needs a simpler cell phone, the Jitterbug J offers large keypad for easy-to-read numbers, a loud speaker, and simple text messaging.

Just5

Like the Jitterbug, the Just5 Simple Features Phone is designed for ease and use. Aimed at seniors and elderly folks, the phone features big, easy-to-read buttons, amplified sound, a long-lasting battery, and a personal emergency response system.

LG Octane

Verizon Wireless has a history of offering excellent LG cell phones, and the LG Octane is no exception. This phone features the flip-style design that works so well on phones like the LG enV3. When closed it looks like a standard cell phone, but flip it open on the side and you'll see a full QWERTY keyboard for easy typing. It also comes with a variety of social networking apps installed.

Samsung Eternity II

The all-touch-screen Samsung Eternity II boasts a slick, eye-catching design. But the Eternity II is more than just a pretty face: it offers plenty of multimedia features, including support for AT&T mobile TV. It also offers easy access to social networks and a full HTML browser.

Samsung's Intensity II takes messaging seriously. It features a full, slide-out QWERTY keyboard for easy typing, and a dedicated messaging key to speed up the process. And like Samsung's Eternity II, the Intensity II is designed to offer easy access to your favorite social networks.

Which phone should earn the 2011 Readers' Choice Award?
