How to Get Dog Urine Out of Wool Carpet
- 1). Place white cloths over the urine spot on the wool carpet. Step on them, or press down with your hands so the cloths absorb as much of the urine as possible. You can then rinse the cloths and wash them in your washing machine.
- 2). Pour 1 gallon of cool water into a small bucket. Add 1 cup of vinegar and 2 tablespoons of mild laundry detergent. The vinegar has two purposes -- it stops the color in the wool carpet from running, and it eliminates tough odors, such as dog urine.
- 3). Saturate the stained area with the cleaning solution in your bucket. Rub it in lightly with a clean, white cloth.
- 4). Blot up all the cleaning liquid and remaining urine with a fresh white cloth. You may need more than one to successfully get up most of the liquid.
- 5). Rinse the area with water to get rid of any remaining soap residue in the wool carpet fibers. Blot again with a clean, white towel.
