Many people want a flat stomach to look better.
And while this is fine one even more important reason is your health.
Most people realize that excess fat is unhealthy few realize how dangerous excess fat around the stomach is.
Lets take a look at why that is and how to reduce it.
Researchers have found that people with big bellies are much more prone to diabetes, heart disease, and even cancer.
Even people that are not considered obese but have excess stomach fat are at risk.
A recent study linked stomach fat to Alzheimer's disease.
It showed that people even as young as 40 with big bellies are more likely to show forms of dementia, be forgetful, and confuse easily.
Researchers have come to the conclusion that stomach fat is more dangerous because it's close to your major organs.
This excess belly fat can build up viscerally around your liver and organs, not just subcutaneously or under the skin.
The visceral belly fat causes major problems.
It can circulate through your body and bloodstream as fatty acids.
These fatty acids release free radicals which can damage cells.
So how do you reduce belly fat? Stick to the old adage of 'Eat Right and Exercise Regularly'.
I know we have all heard this time and time again but it really is the best way to reduce belly fat.
Start eating more leafy greens and fibrous fruits.
Cut out deep fried and processed foods.
Cut down or eliminate alcohol intake.
And when you exercise concentrate on big muscle group exercises not just concentrating on the stomach area.
