How to Paint a Sunroom

10
    • 1). Remove furniture and accessories from the sunroom. Take as much furniture out of the room as you can. Place large pieces that you can't move out in the center of the room, and cover them with a drop cloth. Take accessories and anything hanging on the walls out of the room. Cover the floors with drop cloths, as well.

    • 2). Remove switch plates and light socket covers. Use a screwdriver to remove any covers and plates that are covering light switches and power outlets.

    • 3). Protect windows, baseboards and the ceiling. Run painters tape along the windows, ceiling and baseboards to prevent paint from getting on these areas. If you fear paint may splatter on the windows, cover them with sheets of plastic, using painters tape to hold them in place.

    • 4). Begin painting. Dip a paintbrush into a paint can. Wipe it along the side of the can to remove any excess paint. With a steady hand, paint around the baseboards, ceiling and windows of the room. Use the paintbrush to paint the corners of the room, as well as any other small spaces that will be difficult for a paint roller to reach.

    • 5). Roll the walls. Pour a shallow layer of paint into the deep end of a paint pan. Roll the roller into the paint. Roll it on the shallow side of the paint pan to remove excess paint. Roll the walls, using even, up-and-down strokes.
