Taking Time For You
In this day and age you will find so many people running around at a thousand m.
p.
h going from job to job from friends to family from bar to club then back to work that in the end you'll take a look at them and believe you're looking at a reanimated corpse.
Most people believe that this is the way in which 'successful' people live and that if they want to 'keep up with the Joneses' what they should do is 'roll up their sleeves', 'pull up their socks' and 'get stuck in'.
The truth of the matter though is that when a person works at that kind of pace they quite simply end up burned out by about 35.
I had one acquaintance that was a stock broker making a tidy sum of money but after 5 years working at the firm he was he quite simply gave up.
It is true that he might have a nest egg put away that will keep him financially safe for a few years but after those 5 years he's not even sure he'll be able to work ever again.
On top of that if you were to ever ask him about those years you will notice a look of horror steal upon him as he re-lives those frantic hours in his mind.
The really successful people in this world (and since people like to talk about money the richest) are those who understand that you have to allocate time both for work and for relaxation.
For progress as well as repose.
This means that what you should be doing is allocating time for yourself where you are allowed to completely relax and recharge your faculties.
What this will do is make you able to go back to work energized and excel instead of exhausted and mediocre.
We all know that excelling leads to raises, promotions and if you own your own business then better business so this means your rest is actually helping you along your way.
When you take this time off my advice would be to find things that you REALLY enjoy doing and do only those because when it's the little time that you have for yourself why do anything else right? You might as well take your time reaching the top of the mountain because what's the use of getting there then finding out you're too tired to enjoy the view?
