Lots of bloggers are using WordPress these days.
WordPress itself is easy to use and very customizable and that's what makes it so interesting.
But with these features there also comes a risk of decreasing WordPress' load time through too many plug-ins and code.
Because of that you need to take some steps to speed up your WordPress blog.
I will now cover two different steps which together should decrease the load time of your blog.
First of all it is important to move all the Javascript code to the bottom of the page, if possible.
Move all the script tags right in front of the /body HTML tag.
This is essential because usually web browser can download two files in parallel, but Javascript files can be only downloaded one file at a time and moving them to the bottom of the page thus speeds up your WordPress blog.
Another step to take is to move all the CSS files into the head section of your WordPress template.
The reason behind that is that content can be rendered progressively and this will also indicate progress to your visitors.
Also note that CSS is actually the most important part of your web page as it renders your web site content into a nice structure.
Javascript on the other hand is not really important since it is just used to create fancy applications.
There are a lot more steps you can take but these are two steps that I find essential and every blogger should know about them.
