In a dangerous world with many potential threats, international safety jobs have become vital. Safety workers are employed to ensure products are safe to use, create safe work environments and to ensure public safety or the safety of certain important individuals. Safety workers carry a huge responsibility as errors in this line of work can have disastrous effects. - Safety consultants serve domestically and internationally, conducting safety assessments of working environments and providing recommendations to improve overall safety. Safety consultants advise clients on insurance requirements, safety laws and industry safety standards. They compile reports in which they analyze safety problem areas within companies and propose solutions. Clients evaluate the reports and decide whether to implement the recommendations. When the recommendations are accepted, the safety consultant acts as an overseer to ensure the new safety measures are implemented correctly and trains staff how to deal with the new safety standards.
- Industrial and commercial companies all over the world employ safety engineers to work for insurance companies, factories, government agencies and safety organizations or teach in colleges and universities. Duties vary depending on place of employment. At large factories or manufacturing plants safety engineers study buildings, procedures, equipment and records of accidents within the factory and identify safety hazards. They advise on how to fix unsafe structures, draw maintenance plans for machinery and work with designers to ensure that products manufactured by the company meet safety standards.
- Flight safety officers are employed by aviation companies or federal government. A flight safety officer must be a qualified pilot and have extensive knowledge and experience in the aviation field. Flight safety officers stay up-to-date on aviation laws and regulations at all times and train other pilots on all aspects of flight safety. They investigate the causes of minor or serious flight accidents and make recommendations for changes in the safety measures to avoid future accidents.
- Bodyguards are highly trained personal security guards who protect their clients against harassment, personal attack or kidnapping. Bodyguards work for important people; international travel is frequently part of the job. Bodyguards protect clients behind the scenes or serve as obvious deterrents to discourage possible attackers. Responsibilities include performing a detailed threat analysis of potential attackers, planning safe routes in advance, ensuring destinations are safe, accompanying clients to and from events and providing round-the-clock protection while clients enjoy leisure time.
