How to Improve Aircard Reception
- 1). Call your aircard service provider while your aircard is connected and have the service provider to directly check the connection of your aircard. Your provider can troubleshoot your aircard remotely and send updates or connect it through a different tower to maximize the performance of the aircard.
Your provider can also give you more direction for your aircard use. For example, in some cases, the aircard does not operate efficiently when used in a building with a lot of walls where the signal to the aircard may be reduced. - 2). Add an external antenna kit. An external antenna can amplify your aircard to get a better signal, which allows you to receive and send data more quickly. These antennas are sometimes called power boosters and simply attach to your aircard without any wired connection.
- 3). Connect the aircard to a wireless router. Your aircard can be plugged into a compatible router to increase the reception. In order to check the compatibility, refer to the manufacturer of the router and make sure that your aircard model can attach to the router.
- 4). Update your aircard routinely. It is the responsibility of your aircard service provider to ensure that your wireless card operates with the highest possible reception. Therefore, your provider will send updates directly to your aircard, but it is the user's responsibility to download those updates regularly. For example, in some web connect managers or aircard software managers, click on "Tools," then "Settings," then "Updates" to receive the most recent updates for your aircard.
