Homeless veterans living in Hennepin County, Minnesota may qualify for state and federal benefits relating to financial and living needs as well as disability, health and dental benefits. In addition to government funded benefits programs, nonprofit organizations serving Hennepin County and Minnesota provide programs and resources services. - The Hennepin County Veterans' Service says it provides assistance to veterans and their dependents in obtaining any of a variety of benefits provided by the federal government and state of Minnesota. It also provides connections to other authorized programs.
The Minnesota State Soldiers' Assistance Program provides temporary financial assistance to homeless veterans and their dependents if they are unable to work at the regular occupation due to disability. Qualifications include, but are not limited to, length of service and income. There are also dental and optical care treatment programs available. Eligible veterans in Minnesota may also qualify for care from one of the five state-run veterans homes. To qualify for state-funded benefits in Minnesota, veterans must apply for eligibility.

According to the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans, the Link Vet line can help with information on veterans' benefits, health care, education and reintegration. Crisis Connection counselors for 24-hour, seven days a week coverage, as well as holidays, crisis intervention and psychological counseling.
