    Video

    • In the case of video communication among different input/output devices, video connectors are used. They mostly fall under the domain of serial communication and provide appropriate interfacing between different devices. Most commonly used video connectors include VGA (video graphics array) connectors, S-video (separate-video) connectors, DVI (digital video interface) connectors, RCA connectors, DP (display port) connectors and HDMI (high-definition multimedia interface). These connectors and their respective cables are mostly used in computers, DVD players, VCRs, TVs and related electronic devices.

    Audio

    • Audio connectors are designed to specifically match varying audio frequencies. Some widely used audio connectors include TRS (tip, ring, sleeve) connectors, RCA connectors, DB25 connectors, DIN connectors, Banana connectors, XLR connectors, TOSLINK connectors, HDMI connectors and Display Port connectors. Connectors such as Display Port, HDMI, RCA and DB25 are multifunctioning connectors, which provide both video and audio interfacing facilities for devices like computers, A/V players and sound systems.

    General Data

    • A large variety of wire connectors and cables are used in plain or generic data transmission and interfacing domain. These connectors, without distinguishing between data types, provide high quality interfacing and data transferring benefits. Connectors such as USB-A, USB-B, Micro-USB, Mini-USB, FireWire 1394 and eSATA are highly utilized interfaces.

    Networking

    • Networking scenarios involve some specific types of connectors, which can also be categorized as generic data connectors. These connectors are specially designed and standardized under the specifications defined by international networking and electrical communication authorities. Major networking connectors follow RJ-11, RJ-21, RJ-25, RJ-45, RJ-48, RJ-61, 8P8C, 10P110C, BS-6312 and D-subminiature standard design specifications. As their categorization depicts, network connectors particularly find their applications in networking devices such as NICs (network interface cards), switches, routers, hubs and telephones.

    Radio Frequency

    • RF (radio frequency) connectors are specifically used by electronic and electrical applications involving frequency transmission and reception---particularly in radio frequency bands (i.e., 3 KHz to 300 GHz). They are mostly installed over coaxial cables and used widely in telecommunication equipment such as transmitter assembly, FM/AM radio transceiver antennas, satellite LNBs (low noise broadcasters), removable mobile antennas and distribution frames. Most common types of RF connectors include BNC, C, F, N, IEC 169-2, TNC, UHF and IPX connectors.
