Tough Questions…or Excuses For Not Being Where You Want To Be?

10
If you're like most people, nobody wants to have to answer the tough questions. But why not?

Are they really tough or are they just excuses?

The Problem with Excuses
Well, I almost think this goes without saying but let's explore it a little more.

I would venture to say that this scenario (or similar) has happened many times. You make plans with someone and then as it gets closer to the actual date and time, you decide that you do not want to go through with it.

So what do you do? You make an excuse. But why? Why not just tell the person the real reason you do not want to follow through on your commitment.

Well, for most people, they don't want to hurt someones feelings, so we make excuses. Or we feel like that person will be upset with us and we don't want our own feeling hurt.

Whatever the reason, it is still an excuse.

So what can we do?

Well, here are 3 Questions That Kill Excuses

Are These Your Excuses?

So this might be the part where you'll either look at these questions and say €wow those are tough questions that I never really addressed€ or you'll come up with an excuse.

This will apply mostly in the business sense, but can also apply to your own personal development.

Have you ever complained about feeling confused or overwhelmed?

Have you ever used lack of time, money, skill, friends, no support, burn out, etc. as an excuse for not being where you want to be?

After using these excuses, have you ever watched a stupid tv show, slept in, stopped for coffee and breakfast, surfed Facebook, etc?

Are you really taking 100% responsibility for your circumstances?

So, did you answer them honestly? If you answered yes to any (or many) of them, it probably hurts. And it should. Because you've probably used these excuses too many times.

But so have I€¦but not any more.

No More Excuses
See, it's easy for us to try and blame other people, other circumstances and things that are €out of our control€ as reasons why we didn't do something.

Why do we do it? Because it gives us a way to not face the hard facts and make the necessary changes that we need to make.

But, here's the thing friends - we have to make those changes. This is my motto €If you change nothing, nothing will change€.

It wasn't until I took the next steps and truly changed who I was and stopped making excuses that I was able to move beyond my past state. Now I am in a completely different state of mind, and my focus is crystal clear in how I will succeed.

It all started here, with my Blog. And it continues to grow each and every day because I no longer make excuses.

It's time to change€¦
